“This issue includes the next part of the framework for R2-D2’s dome, plus another batch of fixing screws. You have also received a long steel support rod that fits into the bearing in the top plate of the dome. This will be used to support the dome during assembly, and will ultimately be replaced by the spindle of the mechanism that allows R2-D2’s head to spin smoothly to the left or right.”
The Dome Support Rod was not included with this issue. I have no idea why…

Extending the Head Chassis
Steps 1-3
Retrieve the dome assembly from the previous issue. Position the new Dome Frame to the right of the last one and press the two locating pins up into the matching holes in the underside of the ring frame until it is flush:
Steps 4-6
While holding the Dome Frame in place, secure it with two (2) 2×6 mm silver screws and 2×4 mm nuts.
Refer to Issue 5 on how to attach these Dome Frames as the process is exactly the same as before:
Thoughts
This was a quick one! Unfortunately, DeAgostini neglected to include the Dome Support Rod. This is not critical as it only serves to act as a display/work stand for the dome framework as you build it. And, I didn’t plan on building the framework while it is on the rod anyway.
