“The parts provided this time are the inner and outer casings for R2-D2’s right foot, which cover most of the motor and wheel. These will further be enclosed by the casings around the underside and the fuel cells at a later stage. You also have the mounting plate for the two powerbus cables that connect the foot to the fuel cells.”

Fitting the Motor and Wiring
Align the Outer Foot Casing with the leg assembly from the previous issue, noting the four locating posts and matching holes:
Press the Outer Foot Casing into place as far as it will go:
Secure the Outer Foot Casing with two (2) 2.3×6 mm black screw into these holes:
Slot the Powerbus Cable Mounting Plate into the slot at the front of the Outer Foot Casing.
This will only fit flush if it is inserted the correct way. If it does not sit flush, flip it over and try again:
Align the Inner Foot Casing with the Outer Foot Casing and press the two parts together, making sure the edges are flush.
Be sure to route the Infrared Cable around the inner posts as shown:
Secure the two casings together with four (4) 2.3×6 mm black screws:
The right foot is taking shape now. We still have to add the bottom of the foot, but we are close! After the last issue, this one was much quicker. Everything in this issue is plastic.
