ISSUE 32

 Return to the BUILD

“The main part provided this time is the first infrared sensor, which fits inside R2-D2’s right foot, ahead of the drive wheel. You also have a selection of fixing screws and nuts that will be used in the following [issues].”

It is worth noting that this Infrared Sensor will have to be removed again to install a ‘Sensor Calibration Panel‘ in Issue 52, so you may want to skip this issue and return to it later. It appears that DeAgostini discovered a problem with the sensor and added the corrective part later in the build.

Be sure to route this cable inside the foot as shown:

Thoughts

This issue took about a minute to complete, talk about quick. The only part is the electronic board with the infrared emitter and receiver. But, we do get to finish up the foot in the next issue. We will return to this sensor in Issue 52 because of the calibration panel.
