Build
R2-D2’s Left Ankle Fittings
Steps 1-3
Align the dovetail joints of the Front Left Leg Frame and the Rear Left Leg Frame and press them together until flush:
Step 4
Take one of the nuts provided in this issue and press it into this hexagonal recess of the Front Left Leg Frame:
Step 5
Holding the nut in place, turn the frames over and secure with one (1) matching 2.5×6 mm silver screw:
Step 6-9
Insert the Leg Frame Connector into the matching recess at the end of the frame and secure with two (2) more nuts from this issue and two (2) 2.5×6 mm silver screws:
Steps 10-12
Fit the Leg Frame Connector end of these leg frames into the leg frames from Issue 42 and secure the same way:
Steps 13-14
Fit the completed leg frame to the inside of the leg assembly we last worked on in Issue 40 and secure with eight (8) 2.3×6 mm black screws:
Thoughts
We are beginning to strengthen up the left leg now and will continue to work on it in upcoming issues. However, this particular assembly can be safely stored until Issue 47.
