Fitting the Dome Panels

Steps 1-4

Stick the three Short Double-Sided Tape strips to the inside of the dome around this opening. Peel off the tape’s backings and stick the Dome Panel DP-20 into place. Make sure the panel is aligned and flush.

Since we have already installed a few of these panels already, there is no need to break down the steps each time. This is the final result:

Steps 5-7

Stick the two Long Double-Sided Tape strips above and below the next hole in the dome. Press the Dome Panel DP-18 into place (with the part number at the top). Make sure the panel is flush and aligns with the next hole.

Same as before, this is the final result:

Fitting the Left Foot Casing

Steps 1-4

Take the left leg assembly from the previous issue, align the four long posts of the Outer Foot Casing with these holes in the foot’s metal plate and it press into place:

Steps 5-6

Turn the foot over and drive two (2) 2.3×6 mm black screws through these holes in the metal plate and into the Outer Foot Casing:

Step 7

Slide the Powerbus Cable Mounting Plate into the slot at the front of the Outer Foot Casing until it is flush.

This will only slide in one way and will be loose until we secure it in the next issue:

Thoughts

More dome panels and closing up the left foot. The dome is really starting to look like R2-D2!
