Return to the BUILD
“With the head and leg assembly completed, this [issue] sees you start to assemble R2-D2’s body. The construction is similar to his dome, with a metal and plastic framework that supports the internal electronics and external panels – but this time, you start building from the bottom up.”
Over the next 14 issues, we will be alternating between building the internal frame and the outer body panels.
Materials: Everything is metal in this issue.

Assembling the Bottom Frames
Fit one Bottom Support to one Bottom Plate, aligning the locating pin on the support into this hole of the plate, as shown:
Join the parts from underneath with one (1) 2.5x6mm silver countersunk screw:
Attach the other Bottom Support to the other end of the plate in the same fashion with one (1) 2.5×6 mm silver countersunk screw:
Mirroring the first, attach the other Bottom Plate to the two supports with two (2) more 2.5×6 mm silver countersunk screws:
Four screws and four parts make for a very short issue. But, we have started to build the frame for the body! Keep this assembly nearby as it will be used again in Issue 71.
